A 1080 Sprint alternative
The 1080 Sprint is a motorized cable machine for speed profiles and resisted sprints, priced for pro teams and labs. Sprintbrick records a speed curve for every rep, for $199.
What the 1080 Sprint does
The 1080 Sprint is a motor and a cable. The athlete clips into the cable, and the machine records position and speed continuously as the cable pays out. The motor can also add resistance or pull the athlete forward, so coaches use it for resisted and assisted sprints as well as testing. The US dealer SimpliFaster listed the 1080 Sprint 2 at $17,820 in October 2026, on backorder.
What Sprintbrick does
Sprintbrick also records position continuously, using radio in place of a cable. A receiver behind the start measures the distance to a sensor on your lower back 100 times a second. From that, the app gives you your start, splits at 10, 20, 30 and 40 yards and every 10 m to 100 m, peak speed, your fastest flying segments and a speed chart for the rep. It can't add resistance or assistance.
We test the timing against OVR gates. Every segment after the first 10 m has come within 50 ms of the gates, 30 out of 30, while times that include the start agree less well and still need work. The full results are on the OVR page.

Which to choose
If you need loaded sprints, or a research-grade force-velocity profile for a pro roster, the 1080 is the tool, and Sprintbrick doesn't replace it.
If you want a 1080 for the speed curve, to see how fast you accelerate, where you reach top speed and how long you hold it, Sprintbrick records a speed curve on every rep for about 1% of the price. We haven't tested it against a 1080, so treat the two curves as comparable in kind and not yet in accuracy.
